  I was on vacation and woke up with a root canal gone bad that my dentist at home had tried to save two days before. In hindsight, he should have extracted the tooth rather than spend a lot of time (and a lot of my money) trying to save what was a small fraction of the original tooth, only to leave me in just as much pain when he finished. I ignored his advice and left on vacation for the west coast and was in agony two days later. After little help and bad x-rays from my dentist at home that showed the tooth definitely should have been pulled, Dr. Rachel Rosenblatt - fitting me in as an emergency patient and aware of my fear of dentists - extracted my tooth and packed the socket with bone graft for an implant later with minimal stress. The staff also was nonplussed about having my young son hanging out in the waiting room for the duration.
  I highly recommend Dr. Rosenblatt m, and this practice, although I hope you do not need them on vacation.
